CARLOS is based on the true story of Venezuelan revolutionary Ilich Ramírez Sánchez, also known as Carlos the Jackal. He founded a worldwide terrorist organization and, after several mishandled bombings, led the 1975 raid on the OPEC (Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries) headquarters in Vienna, which killed three people. The series is also available in long-feature film format (2h45).
