Claudia leaves her home and husband to go to live in the mountains, close to the place where her son is buried. In this snow-covered setting, she meets a strange little boy, a child of about ten years of age who seems to have come from somewhere else and to be going nowhere. This curious child attracts her, and soon his presence becomes essential to her. However no one seems to have heard of him, and she never knows where to find him. When Claudia's health worsens, her husband comes to join her. A short time after, his body is found in the mountains. In the snow the footprints of little feet are found...
